Cairo Pyramids, Egyptian Museum & Sphinx Tour from Hurghada

Actually almost everything went well, except for the guide. The transfer in a minibus with two drivers, one of them super nice, went perfectly both there (unfortunately a delay due to police-regulated road use at night) and back. Arriving at the pyramids, a German guide named Ibrahim was waiting for us, who initially made a solid impression, but when we were at the camels and horse-drawn carriages, he really wanted us to do something with them and said it would definitely be worth it. So we did this, but the promised details were not met, e.g., only 20 instead of 30 minutes and the view was about exactly the same as from the starting point. In addition, he said that you pay for this carriage ride after the tour because it goes through the provider. The carriage driver didn't get any money from it at all, except for our extra tip! Afterwards, we were dragged through two shops, where we thankfully declined any purchases. It continued with a not-so-tasty lunch buffet. After that, it got very strange. Our guide really wanted to go into the big museum with us, which we basically even intended to do, but he wanted significantly more money for it than the tickets are actually worth, first €70 for two and then as a final offer €50. We had seen on the museum's website that you have to pay €25 for two students... When we then said we wanted to go into the museum ourselves without a guide, the guide started to argue with the main argument that he would then earn too little money. Finally, after about half an hour of discussion, we had to write on a piece of paper that we were going into the museum independently, mind you with a signature. So we subsequently paid for the carriage tour and were even nice enough to give the guide a €10 tip. Since we didn't have the exact change, we had to give him a €20 bill and said he could also pass the other €10 directly to the drivers as a tip; after the guide ran back and forth briefly, he said he had given the €10 to the drivers. Unfortunately, it turned out in the end that the guide was brazen enough to rip off his own colleagues and took the €20 for himself. We then said goodbye to the guide; after that, everything went very well, and after we were in the museum alone, we got back to our accommodation safely. In summary, it can be said that the tour would have been significantly more pleasant with a different guide.

Hany was our tour guide. He is very nice and explains a lot about Egyptian history. We traveled in a small group, which was very good. We were able to see a lot and water and food were always provided. It is definitely worth the experience.
