Good to know
- This is a guided road and ferry tour in an air-conditioned bus. It is not a cruise or boat tour.
- Departs Hobart at 7am. Returns approximately 5:00 to 5:30pm.
- Your specific pickup time and location is confirmed after booking. Pickup from locations other than the main Hobart meeting point may be earlier than 7am.
- Bring a small day bag or backpack. Suitcases and large bags cannot be accommodated on the bus.
- Bruny Island is often cooler than Hobart. Bring warm layers and a rain jacket even in summer.
- Wear comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes.
- Due to safety regulations, children under 5 years old cannot climb the Cape Bruny Lighthouse stairs but can walk around the base inside.
- Bring a reusable water bottle. Water is available on the bus for refills throughout the day.
- Dietary requirements and food allergies must be noted at time of booking. Gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options available at lunch. Gluten-free biscuits available at morning tea.
- Children under 5 cannot climb Cape Bruny Lighthouse stairs. They may visit the museum and walk outside the base under adult supervision.
- Contact the operator before booking for infants under 12 months.
- Maximum 20 guests per tour bus.

Great food, good vibes and plenty of dad jokes!
We had such an amazing day on Bruny Island! Dave was a fantastic host; warm, welcoming, accommodating and full of great stories (and plenty of dad jokes). It was a small group, which made the whole thing feel really relaxed and personal, more like being shown around the island by a friend than being on an organised tour. We saw so much, learnt a lot about the island and its history along the way, had some great food and just really good vibes all day. The weather wasn’t exactly on our side, but it honestly didn’t matter. Dave made sure we made the most of it, everything was really well organised, and we had a lovely time. Definitely worth the trip. Thanks, Dave, for such a fun and memorable day!
Bountiful Bruny.
This Bruny Island tour was ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!!!! All other tour groups we saw on the day got off their bus and walked in unguided and were left to themselves. Our tour guide took us in and introduced the staff and we got private tastings and experiences. We ate delicious local oysters and cheeses on the beach, climbed the lighthouse, had lunch at the pub, then it was off for chocolate and fudge tastings and then more cheese. Having a guide who has lived on the island for forty years meant we got to see and learn about things that other tours drove straight past. It couldn't have been a better day!
