This unique space was created by Luca Pitti on the South of the river Arno with the intention of building there a magnificent palace. in the 15th century.
The Medicean architect Niccolò Tribolo designed the garden in the 16th century.. After his death, works were completed by his collaborators, such as Giorgio Vasari, Bartolomeo Ammannati, Bernardo Buontalenti. The area was expanded several times over the years and many new statues and fountains were added in the garden.
