Begin your backcountry treasure hunt with pickup from your Healy hotel or make your way to the Black Diamond Resort Co.
Listen to a short safety briefing and orientation, then climb into your vehicle with your guide. This off-road vehicle is a special Polaris Ranger geared with seat belts, a windshield, and cover similar to a small open air Jeep. Set off to navigate the back country trails, along the way you'll plan and strategize about how to find the next treasure hunt clue with your guide. Work together to find hidden views, secret sights, quartz and granite rocks, coal and other clues. Leave a treasure in the geocache and pick one out for yourself to take home. Along the way, take in spectacular scenery and learn about Alaskan culture, history and traditions from your guide. Keep your eyes peeled for native wildlife.
Each destination will get you closer to finding a rustic pavilion in the woods where a full-service camp-style meal is waiting. The lumberjack breakfast offers fresh baked biscuits and gravy, thick cut bacon, reindeer sausage, fresh fruit, home style flapjacks and fresh scrambled eggs. Meals during afternoon and evening tours feature ribs, chicken, steak, salmon fresh from the coastal waters of Alaska, baked beans, and potato salad. Satisfy your sweet tooth with our delicious cobbler for dessert; adult beverages are provided as well as juice, coffee, tea and hot chocolate.
At the conclusion of your tour, return to Healy.
