Birdwatching from Porto

We offer you a day full of great sights, relaxation, great company and of course,  Lots of birds!

During the day we will visit 3 types of terrain: firth, forest and Pre - Mountain.

Our bird expert Carlos Rio is a guy with an impressive sense of humour, and a professional nature and wildlife photographer. He has the time and the spirit to focus solely on biodiversity.

It all began many years ago, when he started to spot some birds through the window of his house, only to realise he was sitting in one of the richest and more diverse spots for birdwatching in Portugal: Cávado’s River estuary and the Northern Littoral Natural Park. His passion grew since then and now he is an expert of the local flora and fauna.

Carlos Rio is like a living part of the the Northern Littoral Natural Park and you will notice this once when you take the tour with him.

Among others, is frequent the sight of Black Redstart, Osprey Pandion, Dartford Warbler, the Hoopoe and Carlos own favorite bird: the Kingfisher (He has a published a book about it)
