Biking Tour and Myatn Nature Baths from Reykjahlid

We will cycle on mountain bikes from our office at Reykjahlíð village towards the geothermal area of Bjarnaflag. There we will see where our local bread "Geyser Bread" is baked in steam holes in the geothermal ground. From there we continue past the first geothermal power generator in Iceland. We then cycle to a Cave where the locals used to steambath in the old days. Then we visit the Mývatn nature baths and taste the local Geyser bread with smoked "Arctic Charr" and then we go bathe in the lagoon for about one hour. We cycle back to our office at around 8:45pm and are back to our office at 9pm. Entry to the baths and Geyser bread included.

This tour is one of the most popular Mountain Bike tours in northern Iceland. You cycle in the evening on a mountain bike and start sightseeing immediately. On your way, you will stop by the “underground bakery” where the locals bake their well-known Geysir bread. You then continue past the first steam generator in Iceland and head to the old steam bath, the old bathing caves close to the fissure Cave of Grjótagjá, and after visiting the cave we go to the Mývatn Naturebaths for an hour of relaxing in the warm water and natural steam baths. After a nice soak, you get back on your mountain bike and head back.

You can either bring your own swimsuit and towel, or you cna rent some at the Mývatn Nature Baths. The cycling adventure is on a gravel road for a large portion of the way. There are a couple of small hills, but it is generally an easy ride. Multiple stops will be taken, so you will have time for photos and to enjoy the scenery.
