• You will be picked up from your hotel/airport between 9:30am and 10:30am • Accompanied by a tour guide and a driver, you will start your visit Lalibela’s cluster of rock-hewn churches, including Bet Medhane Alem, the largest one (there are many churches and adventures throughout the visits) • After the visit of the churches, you will do some sightseeing through Lalibela's famed landscapes and local villages • Attend a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony to see the time-honored process of roasting and brewing Ethiopian coffee, done in a special clay kettle • The tour ends around 5pm, after which you will be dropped at your desired hotel or location

The city of Lalibela is located at 2,600 meters above sea level. It is mountainous region in the heart of Ethiopia, some 645 km from Addis Ababa It contains 11monolithic churches that were built in the twelfth century and are carved out of the pink granite rock; they have been classified as one of the wonders of the world. Their building is attributed to King Lalibela who set out to construct in the 12th century a ‘New Jerusalem’, after Muslim conquests halted Christian pilgrimages to the holy Land. Lalibela flourished after the decline of the Aksum Empire. On this package you have the chance to explore the city that may be described as a sculpture dedicated to the glory of God.
