Though Bermuda is often lauded for its beaches, this tiny island in the middle of the Atlantic is also a paradise for bikers. The temperatures are always pleasantly warm, and some 70 percent of the island’s bike trails follow railway tracks along the historic Bermuda Railway.
With this guided Bermuda shore excursion, you’ll cycle for 6 miles (9.5km) along the railway trail and experience the 'hidden' Bermuda — in a sense that it’s a part of the island that not many visitors see. Along the trail, your guide will offer historical info and tales of Bermuda’s past, as well as answer any questions you might have about the trail or the island itself.
Though the Railway Trail is generally flat, it still offers sweeping views of Bermuda’s spectacular coastline, as well as passes by colorful flowers, gardens and ocean vistas. If time allows, make a side trip on foot to Fort Scaur, which was built in the 1860s, or visit the expansive Mott family estate that dates to the 17th century.
After your time spent biking and hiking, enjoy a hard-earned, refreshing dip in Bermuda’s crystal clear waters, as well as a complimentary soft drink.
