An insightful look into the past at Belle Meade
Our family of 4 (all adults, 21+) visited Belle Meade Historic Site and Winery and booked the Journey to Jubilee tour. It is a tour of parts of the grounds with a focus on the enslaved people on the former plantation and their lives after emancipation (the 1800s). Our guide, Kelsey, was very knowledgeable, friendly, and made the tour very informative and interactive. She answered all of our questions very thoroughly and was a great guide, and we got a very honest account of what life was like for enslaved people on the plantation. The tour tickets included entrance to the grounds, the guided tour itself (we explored 3 different buildings on the site; the tour included some outdoor and some indoor parts), and a wine tasting. It took us about 2 hours to complete, and the process of booking tickets and arriving to check in was very smooth. Overall would recommend!
