We designed this 5-day backpacking experience to hit the highlights and fully immerse you into the natural rhythm of the backcountry in dense brown bear habitat. In contrast to crowded lodges and other backpacking tours in Alaska, our camps are comfortable, safe, and limited to 6 guests. 

Beyond the jaw-dropping scenery, your experienced and friendly guide will share stories, local history, wildlife facts, and answer any questions you have throughout the tour.

Things to know

Before you book

  • There are no bathrooms in the backcountry, so bathroom breaks are done nature-style

  • You must be able to walk on uneven, soft, rocky, and slippery terrain for up to 5+ miles per day

  • Under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult

  • Minimum age requirement of 12 years old

  • This tour is rated as Moderate to Strenuous

Before you go

  • Bring snacks, and a water bottle (water will be refilled at camp)

  • Bring a backpack 70-80 liters, clothes for dressing in layers

  • Waterproof rain jacket & rain pants required
