Batik Making Workshop

Summary

Meet Grace, the owner and operator of Gracia Fabrics and Design. She's your curator and has been making Batik in Ghana for more than 30 years. Batik (pronounced ba-teek) is an ancient handmade fabric art. During the batik process, hot batik wax is painted or stamped onto fabric, which is then dyed. After one or more dyeings, the batik wax is removed, revealing differently colored patterns and designs. After you've learned the technique, you'll get to work on your very own batik fabric. Your design will dry overnight and be delivered to your accommodation the very next day.
