After pickup in the morning in Adelaide, drive in a comfortable air-conditioned coach to the Barossa wine region, known for world class wines. Stop first at Jacob’s Creek Winery to sample their award-winning wines during a guided wine tasting. Tour the vineyards and cellar door, then overlook the vineyards as you relax during your morning tea.
Stop at Mengler Hill Lookout for panoramic views of the Barossa Valley, then go to Saltram Wine Estate in Angaston for wine tastings at their handsome cellar door. After the wine tasting, enjoy a 2-course lunch at the South Australian Company Store and Kitchen, which features ingredients from regional producers. Your lunch includes tastings from two boutique Barossa wineries, and a tasting plate.
Travel through the Adelaide Hills and stop briefly in Springton to see the Herbig Family Tree, a hollow trunk that served as the ‘home’ to the Herbig family until 1860.
When you arrive in Hahndorf, have free time to explore the main street, or choose to taste the wines at a boutique winery in town. The picturesque main street of Hahndorf is home to shops, art galleries, and pubs where you can try German beers (please note: any tastings or purchases in Hahndorf are not included in the price). Your tour ends with return to Adelaide in the early evening.
