Inside the Cathedral you will admire the very impressive marble tomb of Emperor Heinrich II and his wife, the Empress Kunigunde or the tomb of Pope Clement II, the only papal grave in Germany. Even the construction of the Old Town Hall is fascinating. According to a local legend, the bishop refused to give the citizens of Bamberg the land they needed to build their Town Hall, so the people started throwing stakes and logs in the river Regnitz, which ended up making a small artificial island upon which they built their Town Hall.
