Azores Walking Tour

Day 1: Arrival  Arrival to Ponta Delgada airport. Transfer to White Azores Hotel where you will sleep. Day 2: Discover Caldeira das Sete Cidades and Ferraria After breakfast, follow the Sete Cidades hiking trail where you will meet the beauty of São Miguel island resulting from many different volcano eruptions in the last centuries and millenniums. When approaching the trail you will stop in one of the most spectaculars views of the huge Caldeira das Sete-Cidades: the viewpoint of Gruta do Inferno. Then in the viewpoint of Vista do Rei you will start hiking through the south rim, experiencing beautiful views from the lakes and also from the Ocean.  At Sete-Cidades village you will enjoy your picnic and the quietness of the small village. Depending from conditions and tide, you can enjoy some hot baths and snorkeling. Sleep at White Azores. (6km + 544m ) Day 3: Lagoa do Fogo awits you  You will walk toward the youngest stratovolcano of the island and through natural protected areas.  The trail starts in the south part of the island in a beaten earth track. You will start ascending until reaching a water channel from which the trail runs for more or less 2 km.You can visit Caloura or Água D’Alto beaches, dive in the Atlantic Ocean and do some snorkeling. Sleep at White Azores. (12km + 581m ) Day 4: Salto do pego and its incredible views  Today you will go to the east side of São Miguel to a small village called Faial da Terra. It is a mixture of Nature and the Human Heritage of different generations and families trying to domesticate this dramatic landscape. This day will start at Faial da Terra where you will walk side by side with a beautiful stream, passing in several orchards, wooden bridges and old paths used in ancient times. Walking inside the forest you will start to descend until the magic and unexpected waterfall of Salto do Prego.  You can expect to be totally immersed in the past. During warm seasons you can enjoy the Atlantic Ocean in Povoação or Ribeira Quente where you can refresh yourself if you feel so. During other seasons you can enjoy some baths at the thermal springs in Furnas or a walk around. Sleep at Furnas Boutique Hotel. (4,5km + 220m) Day 5: Free Day at Furnas for some hot springs  Feel free to discover the island with your own eyes and pace. Wonder through the true beauty of this island, discover the habits of this population, taste the local gastronomy and rest for the next day. Sleep in Furnas Boutique Hotel. Day 6: Moinhos da Ribeira Funda Trail Today the trail is  in the North Coast of the island, always with the Ocean on sight. Pass by small beaches and small waterfalls that leads to the sea.  Sleep in Furnas Boutique Hotel. (6km + 224m) Day 7: Depature After the breakfast, we will sadly transfer you to the airport.
