The ascent from Foce di Montemonaco to Lake Pilato is one of the most spectacular itineraries in central Italy. The valley of the lake is really interesting, where traces of ancient glacial cirques are still visible and where Pizzo del Diavolo dominates the landscape. Lake Pilato is called with a pinch of irony the "lake with glasses" for the shape of its complementary and communicating reservoirs in the periods of greatest presence of water. Among the many elements of interest of the day, the biology of the famous Chirocefalo di Marchesoni and the suggestive legend linked to the name of the lake ... Optional final snack with typical farm products.
