Meet your guide in the morning at the corner of Long and Waterkant Street in central Cape Town. After getting a bike and a helmet, you’ll proceed on a 4-mile (6-kilometer) cycling-themed food tour of this South African metropolis.
As you pedal through the city, your guide will direct your attention to a variety of cultural landmarks. You’ll make your first stop in the colorful Bo Kaap area, long associated with the city’s “Cape Malay” residents, and proceed along a route heading for the V&A Waterfront area.
While you cycle, you’ll also have time to fuel up with a variety of tasty South African food samples. Munch on local delicacies like samosas (an Indian-style pastry stuffed with vegetables, spices and sometimes meat), “Boerwors,” (traditional South African sausages), and koeksisters (a sweet that many compare to doughnuts). You’ll finish back at your original starting point.
