Arctic Animal Day - Winter

See over 50 species of arctic animals including the rare polar bears along the wonderful 2,5km walking trail at Ranua zoo. Among the 200 animals there, see top predators such as the lynx, brown bears, wolves, arctic fox, wolverines, river otters, snow owls, and much more! Check out big herbivores like the musk ox and European moose among others. Spend time finding the hiding and camouflaged little cuties such as the minks and stoats. Be sure to be on time for the feeding hours for various animals!

After enjoying the traditional Finnish buffet lunch in restaurant, your guide will take you to a closer encounter with Lapland’s VIP animals—the reindeer and huskies. Listen and get to know their daily lives, the husky musher and reindeer herder are happy to share many interesting stories with you. If lucky with working conditions for these lovable animal friends, you may ask the husky musher if it is possible to go on a husky and/or reindeer ride (for an additional price).

Duration includes the transfer and clothes changing time. Pick up service is included if the distance from pick up point to Sunny Safari Office is within 8km. Thermal overalls, winter boots, winter gloves and woolen socks are provided.
Meeting time of our safari is always before the starting time of the safari if you need pick-up services. You will receive your meeting time and meeting point upon confirmation or by e-mail. Failure to participate in the safari due to missed meeting time or meeting point will not be refunded.
Operated in Rovaniemi each year from November 16 to April 12 next year (weather permitting). The minimum number of participants for each safari is 2 full paying adults’ price.
Please let us know in advance when you book the safari if you have special dietary requirements. (Eg: vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.)
