Archery class

High competition archery involves shooting arrows at targets placed at one or more distances. This is the best known type of competition in the world. A particularly popular form in Europe and America is archery in the field, firing at targets usually placed at various distances on wooden supports. There are also other lesser-known types, others already historical and others more novel. The archery of competition is a sport of precision that includes both the control of the mind and the body.

In archery with modern competition targets The targets are outside. The interior distances are 18 and 25 m. Another modality developed from the field shot, by which the targets are replaced on a parapet with the shot silhouettes or photographs of animals (2D or animal) or even three-dimensional figures representing various animals.

Worldwide, this type of competition is regulated by various federations such as FITA, IFAA or IBO, each with its own regulations.

The bow was probably invented for use in hunting and was later adopted as an instrument of war. It was one of the first artillery samples. The arches finally ended up replacing the atlatl as the predominant projectile launching system.
