Angra dos Reis Speedboat Adventure

It was a traumatic, dangerous, and callous experience. There were those who suffered physical injuries, and by a miracle there were no major casualties. The schooner we traveled on was extremely precarious, but the riskiest thing was that the team did not have the minimum safety protocol—for instance, something as basic as wearing life jackets on board, since it was a 12-hour tour on the open sea. There were some children's "pool noodles" that they ridiculously charged for if anyone asked for them! People, children and older adults included, were jumping into the water without life jackets or precautions, totally left to their own devices, even though many did not know how to swim, and others were intoxicated (too much alcohol was circulating on the boat despite the prohibitive sign). In the areas where we disembarked, there was a lot of maritime traffic, another danger factor, since no one was organizing or signaling. We suffered a storm at sea that unleashed panic in everyone, adults and children crying and screaming, and NO ONE gave instructions on what to do or guided the rescue. They improvised cuts to the roof, since the schooner's canvas was flying away along with poles and objects, and a passenger was hit by the speaker that fell on his head. NO ONE assisted him. Only then did they distribute the life jackets, since the 50 of us passengers were without them! They left us to our own devices, we miraculously got off at a nearby stop without anyone from the crew telling us what to do, how to descend, or what was happening or where we would sleep. Finally, they made us return without lights on the same boat damaged by the storm, which was not in condition, in a lamentable night navigation and with rain, without radio or radar. We were lucky that there was a moon to guide us and see. Neither the guide nor anyone from the crew checked if all the passengers were on board or if we were okay or if anyone needed assistance. It would be very necessary that you could take advantage of this review to, please, learn and take precautions for the safety of everyone. In another order of importance, I highlight that it would also be essential that you could make an environmental reflection, since from the same tour they threw food to the native fish, which --at this point is more than known-- causes damage to the ecosystem.

The beaches had a lot of people, considering that ilha has several, they should offer not so crowded or larger beaches. I also wish I could have done less downhill and spent more time on the beaches. The tour service was good, Alexia as a guide is the most and the driver William tmb.

Overall, good experience, but some things left to be desired. The support of the top of the boat was with screws missing and even so everyone was backing up, the glass of the boat's bathroom window was broken. Outside of that the boat was good, with normal weather signs. The bus microphone didn't work right, it was hard to hear all the instructions. The whole part in English for my boyfriend he couldn't understand. At the end of the tour, we left the boat and did not have instructions from the guide where to gather, while other guides indicated where to gather. Most people spoke Spanish, so most of the passage the guide spoke that language and most of the songs on the boat too. Few people spoke English and the guide didn't even pay attention to them. The food in the restaurant was extremely simple and the dishes were all dirty. Many tourists complained both Brazilians and foreigners. A lady even argued with her guide about it. That's a constructive criticism and I hope things get better. We had a lot of fun, but it could be improved.
