Your tour begins with an afternoon pickup from your hotel in time for a 1.30pm departure. Traveling aboard a comfortable air-conditioned bus, set out for the first destination of the day — the grand Reunification Palace.
Hear about the building’s impressive history — as the site of the Fall of Saigon and the end of the Vietnam War on April 30th 1975 — then follow your guide inside for a tour of the legendary building. During the tour, learn about some of Vietnam’s most important historic events, peek into the war command room, and see the preserved F5E fighter plane that bombed the palace back in 1975.
Continue exploring the surrounding district, once the heart of the French colonial city, and pause to admire striking buildings such as the old Central Post Office and the Notre-Dame Basilica. Nearby, visit the bustling Ben Thanh Market, where you’ll have chance to browse the stalls and perhaps pick up some unique souvenirs.
After leaving the market, continue to the War Remnants Museum, where you can uncover more about the Vietnam-American War. As well as viewing the collection of military equipment, weapons, and other memorabilia; learn more about the use of Agent Orange and other devastating tactics employed by both sides.
Finally, pay a visit to the Jade Emperor Pagoda, a magnificent Taoist temple dating back to the late 19th-century, and one of the city’s most richly decorated temples.
Your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.
