During this trip you will enjoy an exciting tropical rainforest of 114 hectares, as well as the magnificent Sarapiqui River, which we will cross two times during the trip. As with any of our tours, you will be accompanied by experienced guides, using specialized equipment of the highest quality, which can only be found at Aventuras Del Sarapiqui.
Itinerary
The group is received by our guides at Aventuras Del Sarapiqui base camp, where bathrooms and changing rooms can be found. Those that arrive via their own transportation leave their vehicles here, and we will transport you to the starting point (a 10 minute trip).
Once at the starting point, each person will receive their equipment, to be adjusted by the guides. The guides will explain safety rules and instructions.
The trip will last approximately 2 hours. It includes 14 zip lines between platforms of aluminum and earth. Among the trees used for the tour are 3 Almendrons, 1 Gavilan, 1 Aceituno and a majestic Ceibo; whose height offers a beautiful view of the river.
During the tour, guests take 3 short hikes that rise more than 300 feet total via trails adequate for hikers of all capabilities. During the trip, guides will choose a stop to relax and will provide snacks ans water. The stop allows guests a moment to connect with nature, simulates observation and learning to hear the sounds of birds and insects in the forest.
In Rafting:
This tour begins in the community known as La Virgen de Sarapiquí, one of the most important communities of the area. This tour takes us through a beautiful part of the river filled with exciting white water rapids and beautiful ponds, all surrounded by a wonderful natural scenery. This is a great tour for people who are going rafting for their first time, but who also want excitement and great rapids. It is also a great tour for people with previous experience in rafting.
In order to go on this tour, the minimum age for children is 9 years old, and in senior citizens, it is important to take into account their experience and physical condition. We do not recommend that senior citizens over the age of 60 years old participate in this tour. The complete tour (La Virgen – Chilamate) runs for about 2:30 hours to 3 hours, and it goes for a distance of 16 kilometers (10 miles). This tour includes a stop halfway through to enjoy a delicious fruit snack.
