Exceptional guide Vjeran
Wonderful day trip. Our guide Vjeran was very knowledgeable and relayed the history about volcanic activity in the region and showed us interesting sites. A highlight was a drive through volcanic sites which were spectacular and a lovely viewpoint to stop for photos. Vjeran was very friendly, enthusiastic and looked after all the guests. The Blue Lagoon was an enjoyable and memorable experience. Vjeran was the best. Thanks again. Mark
Get to see alot related...
Get to see alot related to area and volcanic activity of area. Good excursion if you like doing some hiking while sightseeing and looking around ( need to be in shape) vs just sitting alot on a bus all day and just a bunch of brief walks. Only issue we had was weather related and not tour fault. Had to cut 4 mile hike short when we alll got to top of ridge to look down at lava flows and found the wind increased to 50+mph (good breeze was forecast but not that til evening) that was nonconducive to continuing. Our great guide Peter safely guided us off the ridge, we all had bonded in the struggle, and continued on driving elsewhere seeing the sights. Small bus with just 16 of us which is also very nice as you get to know your bus mates. Got to see where all 3 years of flows happened and the damage to roads and one town (now semiabandoned). Peter said he never had experienced that level of wind before so at most may experience some wind if you book this and not 50+mph
Superb
We did the volcano hike. Peter was super guide, relaxed, fun and professional! We had super heavy wind today but that did not bother the experience. I also liked a lot that we visited some extra locations and heard amazing stories of Iceland as well as Peters own advwntures. Thanks!!
Beautiful sights and unforgettable experience.
The sights were fabulous and we saw everything we were told we would see. The pickup was delayed slightly because of a cancellation of another tour which I feel caused us to be a little rushed to get back on the bus during our designated site stops but I believe the employees truly tried to do the best that they could to provide us with a pleasant experience.
Volcano hike shorter than described, total day is longer
This was supposed to be four hour hike on a nine hour excursion. Instead it was a two hour hike on an eleven hour excursion. This is not what I would have chosen. Also it was combined with another tour that took guests to the Blue Lagoon which meant we had to waste time shuttling guests back and forth in the middle of our day. Guide said this is always a two hour hike on an eleven hour day so there is a disconnect between the tour company and the description with Viator.
