We will go back to 2000 years ago and virtually experience a journey through the Roman Paris, from the 1st century BCE until the 4th C CE. From your sofa, you’ll travel through time and learn about the very origins of Paris, its roman architecture, and its famous landmarks that can still be visited today.
Do Asterix and Obelix ring a bell? From your comfortable home, you’ll understand how the very first inhabitants of Paris lived happily before Julius Caesar decided to ruin the party. With pictures and 3D views of Paris, you’ll discover how the Roman city was created. You’ll pass from the right bank of the Seine River to the city islands, then to the left bank and its roman buildings. You’ll visit the Forum, which was the social and political center of the city, you will stop by the Roman baths, and you’ll go into the Amphitheater, which was a real show at the time! You’ll finally finish the tour seeing the remains of one of the most important places of the Roman city, the harbor, located near Notre-Dame at the time.
You’ll be guided during this one-hour virtual tour by Claudia, one of our guides who is an Italian archaeologist. Please check the correct language when booking.
