A River Rhapsody - Passageways Along Singapore River
Tour info
Why take this tour?
Get away from the maddening crowd in the city to enjoy a gentle stroll in the serene and green atmosphere along this waterway. Imagine the sound of running water and chirping birds, amidst a quiet urban scape. During the tour, you will get to know the history of Alexandra Canal, which feeds into the Singapore River, and how it forms part of Singapore's water strategy. Witness urban renewal not only in the canal itself but also its surroundings. As we proceed along the Singapore River, you will see historical landmarks and bridges and hear the not so oft told stories behind them. The gentrification of this part of the city along the Singapore River before the city proper is telling. Tastefully architected luxury condominiums and elegantly restored shop houses repurposed as restaurants and bars dot the river bank. The tour ends at Fort Canning Station, just shy of Clarke Quay. You'll notice the atmosphere is decidedly different!
