A day as a Caribbean artist

Summary

If you are looking for music, joy, dance and sounds of the Caribbean, this total immersion experience is for you. Here we will all be artists - at least for one day - we will play an instrument, dance or sing in a group guided by more than 30 children and young people who are part of the Baranoa Band, the musical ‘jewel’ of the department of Atlántico. To begin, we will visit the headquarters of the Baranoa Band Foundation - located 35 minutes from Barranquilla - to see the marimba, the trumpet, the saxophone, the percussion, the dishes, among other instruments that sing our most characteristic rhythms. Later, we will learn to interpret a traditional Colombian song from the hands of children, musicians and school teachers. Isn't playing an instrument your thing? Do not panic! You can also join the group of dancers who accompany the instrumentalists with their dance passes, or sing in choir ‘Colombia dear land’ with all the artists in the same staging. Finally, we will finish in a musical ensemble that will show you how the Colombian Caribbean sounds and that you can live not only as a spectator but also as an artist of our region.
