Day 1: Nairobi/Mountain Lodge Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive through Kikuyu countryside to the lower slopes of Mt. Kenya arriving (tree hotel) in time for lunch. Relax in the afternoon as you watch game from the balcony of the lodge, with an optional guided nature/forest walk. Overnight floodlit game viewing. Dinner and overnight at the tree hotel. Day 2: Samburu Depart after breakfast and drive further north across the equator to Samburu National Reserve arriving Samburu Lodge in time lunch. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. Day 3: Samburu Full day in Samburu, with an early morning and late afternoon game drive. Samburu is a beautiful and and game abundant park, home to rarely found species such as the Beisa Oryx, Grevy’s zebra, blue-necked Somali ostrich and reticulated giraffe. Optional activites include a visit to a local Samburu village, camel riding and guided nature and bird walks. All meals and overnight at Samburu Lodge. Day 4: Lake Nakuru After breakfast drive down to the floor of the Rift Valley – to Lake Nakuru National Park, making a brief stop at Nyahururu Thomson Falls. Arrive Sarova Lion Hill Lodge in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive in the park. Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approx 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. Also, many species of game can be found in the park including the introduced Rothschild’s giraffe, black and white rhino, and many species of plains game. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. Day 5: Naivasha Another morning game drive in Nakuru, then depart for Naivasha, arring in time for lunch. Afternoon boat ride on Lake Naivasha and a walking safari at Crescent Island, one of the few places in the world where one can wander on foot amidst wild animals – there are no predators. Return to Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 6: Maasai Mara Depart after breakfast and drive further along the floor of the Rift Valley to Maasai Mara, arriving Sarova Mara Tented Camp in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive as you get a feel of this vast game filled reserve. Dinner and overnight at the camp. Day 7: Maasai Mara Spend the day in Maasai Mara, Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant)going out with picnic lunch boxes to spend most of the day in the park coming back to the lodge late afternoon, game drive, .All meals and overnight at Sarova Mara Tented Camp. Day 8: Back to Nairobi/Out Depart Maasai Mara after breakfast, and morning gamedrive driving back to Nairobi to arrive approx 1600hrs. Drop at your hotel or transfer to the airport for onward flight home.
