7-Day Iceland Ring Road & Snaefellsnes Tour

We had an amazing 6 day ring road +1 day Snaefellsness peninsula road trip with BusTravel in Inceland in early September. What a beautiful country and other worldly landscape. The trip was smooth and every detail looked after, the hotels were good. Our tour guide Kolbein (Kolin) and Mareyka were both exceptionally amazing, they made sure we got the best views and also gave us an insight into the Icelandic culture and history. We had the best road trip thanks to them. We were also very lucky to get a great mix of awesome people on the trip. September is a great month to visit the country.. it's not yet that cold, good no of hours of daylight, and you still have a chance to see the Northern lights which we were lucky to see 2 nights in a row just outside our accommodation. I would also like to add the communication from the Bustravel team was just exceptional. They were prompt with all their responses and accommodating of any request. Highly recommend booking this tour! I lucked out with only 6 people on my tour, so was able to get a more intimate experience, especially meeting other solo travellers like myself. My guide for the first 6 days was Kolbeinn, who was an eccentric but funny guy with interesting stories. He offered to be the "nighttime watch" for the aurora and even played some Chinese pop music in the car for me lol. The 7th day was with a larger group of 15 people and I was able to hang with 2 of the people from the previous 6 days. You get to get a full tour of the island with countless amazing waterfalls and hikes along the way. Make sure to pack warm with a good rain jacket, rain pants, and waterproof shoes cuz you'll need it! Leave the umbrella at home cuz it'll be useless against the horizontal Iceland rain. We had plenty of bathroom and food stops along the way. Also pack a swimsuit for the Vok baths +/- hot tub at one of the hotels. All the hotels were very nice, except the last one in Reykjavik which was a bit dingy and outdated (no fault to the tour itself). Overall, I'm extremely happy I booked this tour as I didn't have to worry about the logistics of driving through unfamiliar location, terrain, and weather and I had a blast!

The tour with the operator ( Bus Travel) was good except the first hotel we stayed in in Reykjavik was not to the standard expected ( Hotel Cabinet) , actually it was more of a hostel for teen agers than a hotel. Our room was not to the standard , breakfast was so bad, cleanness was questioned!!! The rest of the trip was very good our tour guide Joan was marvelous , he went the extra mile to satisfy the need of each and every person in the tour. He also took the extra mile so we can see the northern lights. He is an asset to the company.

Both the 6 day ring road tour with Steiner and the 1 day Snaefellsnes Tour with Vjeran were outstanding! The ring road tour was amazing, every day was interesting, well paced and entertaining. Steiner was hilarious, informative and super helpful when needed. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. The only thing that let it down was our accommodation on the last night at Hotel Cabin, where we were stuffed into a shoebox sized room and the breakfast was substandard compared to every other night on the tour, where accommodation and the food was outstanding! The 1 day Snaefellsnes Peninsula tour was fantastic. Vjeran was interesting, informative, a fantastic selfie -stick, he had boundless energy and he managed the insanely windy weather and it's consequences (losing a windscreen wiper hule driving) really well. I can't recommend this tour combination highly enough, it was time and money well spent!
