6-Day Iceland Winter Minibus Tour

We had a fantastic experience on this six-day tour and would highly recommend it. Our guide, Sindri, was exceptional. He had a warm, fun personality, was extremely knowledgeable, and kept the entire trip relaxed and stress-free. He was also genuinely enjoyable to chat with and brought such a positive energy to the experience. The minibus was new, clean, and comfortable. There were 17 people in our group, but everyone had enough room for the drives. The bus had reliable Wi-Fi, charging ports at every seat, and plenty of luggage space. We generally spent around 2.5–4 hours driving each day, broken up by numerous stops. The pace was very well balanced, allowing us to see and experience a great deal without ever feeling rushed. The included ice cave, glacier hike, and whale-watching excursion were all unique and fantastic experiences. The glacier-lagoon boat tour was an optional add-on, but once everyone saw the beautiful bay filled with icebergs, nearly the entire group decided to do it, and it was absolutely worthwhile. The hotels were good overall, although the quality varied somewhat from night to night. A few felt closer to a 3.5–4 out of 5, while others were easily 4.5 or better, but we were always comfortable. Breakfasts also varied, but there was consistently plenty of good food. Most offered a standard European-style breakfast with meats, cheeses, yogurt, bread, coffee, and juice, while a few also had waffles or eggs. I traveled with my 72-year-old father, who uses a cane, and he greatly enjoyed the trip. He was able to participate in most activities, although he skipped the more strenuous glacier hike. At a few stops, he was happy to enjoy the scenery from near the road rather than walk farther along the dirt paths. Overall, this was an outstanding way to see and learn about Iceland. We experienced an incredible amount in six days without feeling rushed, and Sindri played a huge role in making the trip so memorable. We would enthusiastically recommend both the tour and Sindri.

This was my first experience traveling with a group, and it was a great one! Got to see many of the sights in Iceland in only 6 days. I thought it might feel rushed, but we got to spend up to an hour in most locations and it felt fine. It was a great way to scout out Iceland, and I will likely go back to spend more time. John, our guide, was awesome. Always positive and had a good sense of humor.

My family and I had an amazing experience in Iceland. Our guide cum driver John is super efficient and talented, with a passion for sharing with us Iceland through his (geographer) eyes, while driving us tirelessly and keeping the group engaged day after day. Thank you for such wonderful memories!

We went on 6d summer Iceland tour with Troll. Our driver n guide John is the best guide ever! Very efficient, capable, knowledgeable, and fun. The highlight of the trip is the glacier hike and ice cave, and everything that we see are so amazing and out of this world! A truly memorable trip for me and my sisters and my daughter!!
