3-Hour Private Night Tour: Beijing Foodie Experience

Meet your guide in the lobby of your Beijing hotel at 5:30 p.m. and travel together by taxi (own expense) to the main market area. Stroll through the hutongs, or old alleyways, and learn about their history as you walk to your first eatery. Upon arrival at Xinjiang Taste Restaurant, sample 3-5 different types of kabobs accompanied by side dishes like eggplant, garlic, leeks, and beans. Then, try tanjianbing, a savory fried pancake popular among locals. Topped off with a sampling or Erguoto – a traditional Chinese white liquor. Continue walking down the same street to taste a number of other sweet and savoroy specialties, including sesame cakes, Sichuan kabobs, peanut milk, cold noodles, steamed rice cake, and more. Throughout the tour, learn about each dish’s ingredients and cultural significance from your guide. Next you'll stop at a local restaurant serving Yunnan Province's traditional cuisine. Delight in flower cakes, plum liquor and "Cross Bridge" rice noodles. Try their speciality, dish-fired bamboo worm (own expense).
