True to its legacy, the Masai Mara is full of life and home to over 450 species of birds and animals. The highlight of these rolling grasslands and Acacia savannas are the Big 5 ( Elephant, Buffalo, Lion, Leopard, and Rhino) To say the least, it definitely crowns the climax of every other safari in Kenya. Apart from the famous “Big 5”, the Masai Mara is known for another natural spectacle - The Great Migration. It is an annual activity which includes the migration of over one million wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, etc from the Serengeti in Northern Tanzania to Kenya by crossing over the Mara river in search of fresh green feeding pastures. This is generally visible in the Masai Mara region in July or August.
