The name "Amboseli" comes from a Maasai word meaning "salty dust", and it is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. You will see the plains which full of wildebeest, zebras, impalas, topis, giraffes, Thomson’s gazelles. Also regularly seen are leopards, lions, hyenas, cheetah, jackal and bat-eared foxes. Black rhinos are a little shy and hard to spot but are often seen at a distance.
