2 day Niagara Falls Trip
The trip was well planned and all the attractions were covered in time. The bus driver and Mason were quite punctual and made sure everyone was on time. The only recommendation is the accommodation which was not planned in advance. As a result, the budget hotel was not upto the mark. AC was not working very efficiently, especially in July weather. Also the fuel prices have gone down but we were still charged 5$ per person for the surge everyday. Rest all was very nice. Decently priced, and Mason was great! Kept us energized, entertained, disciplined and punctual!
Very happy
The leader of this tour of the United States Jay Lin was really amazing! I didn’t have time to do my homework before leaving, but following them was especially reassuring. They are not only familiar with the sights, but also know the best shooting spots, local cuisine and accompaniment. The schedule is flexible and can be adjusted even when your team is tired. Travel with them, in addition to food and beauty, the most valuable is that sense of peace and cohesion.
Be careful what you book
Fair warning...This is a long review. First of all, we usually use Get your Guide when we travel, which means we are satisfied. However, to help people prevent from what happened to us, below are my comments: Our tour/service provider was Jupiter Legend Corporation. We got the 3 day tour. The tour was really about selling us more tours. We got what we thought was a reasonably priced package. Although it was clear that there were options to buy other tours and I inquired weeks before the tour how I can pay for the tours we want to add, I was informed that it will be during the tour itself when they will confirm for us. As I do not want to carry cash, it was not okay for me. But since I have already paid for the package without the add ons, I went along. A.] If you are looking for a detailed and well serviced tour, DO NOT BOOK a tour with TWO languages in the details. - The tour we booked was in English and Chinese as presented in the details. It was supposed to be a red flag already, but I didn't think about it when I booked. The downside is: the guide has an accent , difficult to understand and the tour is presented twice, so there is very little information because by the time the guide is presenting the data about the place in English, we have already passed the area several minutes ago. Also, the guide is not so knowledgeable in the history of the US and the places as well. We got an SMS the day before from Sunny Shen. reminding us to bring warm clothes, the time of pick up, and for us to confirm if we got the message. The SMS had, 2 languages English and a Chinese translation, just like the details of the tour that we booked. We were excited and happy that they seem organized. The following day, on the day of the tour, we got another message from Bowen, in full English, that he will be our guide. At the meeting area, there was already confusion as to bus transfers. This was because we had 3 buses. We were met by our assigned guide at Red Lobster in Times Square, then had a stop to pick some other tourists, but while waiting, were told that we will transfer, which was ok, because it it was explained that there were people in a 2 day tour and 3 day tour. However, after we got down to get our luggages, we were told that we were to stay in the same bus, so we had to put our luggages back. When we went back to our seats, we were asked to move because there were seat numbers. Something that was not explained during booking or during the email exchanges prior to the tour. The Chinese speaking people got the preferred seats as they were pre booked. This was minor to us, as we anticipated a promising 3 day experience so we let it slide. As mentioned, our guide had to present twice. This was not the same as the tours we were used to. It was less personalized, less involvement, with very little intention of providing good service. Reasons: - we felt like we need to be rushed all the time when we walk. He was like a drill sergeant. Always shouting to hurry up! Hurry up!! Even if we are always already running and had little time to appreciate the places. - He ONLY guides those that are in front. So we had to really run. Even if we, those who are at the back of the bus , have not yet gotten off the bus, he already walks towards wherever we needed to go. We were left behind more than 3x - The worst was in our first hotel. It was raining. The guide went ahead to lead those who got off first and got their bags. We, who were at the back seat, and got our bags last were left. It was night time. No instructions on where to go. We went to the wrong street in the rain only to realize that there was no building there, and had to go back to find the bus and find where everyone was. THIS IS THE WORST PART: In the agreement, we were told that gratuities for the driver and the guide were already included. Horror of all horrors, we were asked to give the tip. So we gave what we thought was comfortable. Bowen, our guide made a computation and asked us to pay almost 200 USD. We paid, while he went to the others, computing for their dues. It was a good thing that we were able to save a copy of the agreement. We showed it to Bowen and he returned the money. What if we didn't have a copy? We would pay more? I will add that for the most part of the last 2 days of the trip, it was spent in the bus, not with the usual guided tour readings and Q&A's about the areas but about selling the other tour packages that will be available on the next stops to each and everyone of the passengers, doing haggling, computing and selling the idea of buying. To me, it was not service oriented but sales oriented. It was just a good thing that the places were of interest to us and we knew how to entertain and educate ourselves on our own. I am sorry. i have had better experiences with Get your Guide and other tour guides. Jupiter Legend Corporation just wasn't it.
