3-Day Cradle Mountain Photography Workshop

Highlights

  • This 3 day Tasmanian photography workshop departs from Hobart early morning. You'll be traveling in a small vehicle and hotel pick ups are included. You will arrive at Cradle Mountain after lunch, and after checking into your accommodation at the Cradle Mountain Hotel, you will begin your photographic exploration of this iconic region. Dove Lake is the main destination for photographers, and over the three days of this workshop 2 sunset sessions and 2 sunrise sessions on the shores of Dove Lake are allowed for. There are many picturesque vantage points from the lakes edge, including the rustic and picturesque Boat Shed. During the daylight hours, you will experience the unique alpine landscape and vegetation of Tasmania's World Heritage area. Trees such as the leatherwood, King Billy pine and pandanis, which grow nowhere else on earth will be a highlight. You will also shoot waterfalls, intricate mosses and lichens, and the historic "Waldheim" chalet. A special highlight will be the opportunity to photograph the Tasmanian Devil up-close, at the "Devils@Cradle" wildlife park. All the while, you will receive personal tips and tuition on achieving meaningful results with your camera from a professional and friendly Tasmanian photographer. An introduction to post processing technique is also a part of this workshop and will take place at the hotel. After our sunrise shoot, and full buffet breakfast on day 2, you will depart Cradle Mountain to spend a few hours shooting the beautiful Liffey Falls deep in the Tasmanian rainforest. Liffey Falls is surrounded by ferns and ancient trees, and on previous visits even platypus in the river have been photographed. The tour will complete mid afternoon on day 3, and you will arrive back in Hobart around 6:30 pm. A hotel drop off is included.
