Lake Mburo national park (LMNP) is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah national parks and is located in kiruhura district in the western Uganda, the park is situated about 30 kilometers by road, east of Mbarara, the largest city in the sub-region,Lake Mburo National game Park harbors several wildlife species not observed else where in Uganda.like:Etopi, bush buck, common duiker, oribi, Defassa water buck and Bofor reed buck, while the lake and lush fringing vegetation support healthy populations of buffalo, warthog, and hippopotamus. Large herds of the majestic eland keep roaming the park. The sitatunga confines itself to the swampy areas of the park. Only two diurnal primates occur in Lake Mburo: the vervet monkey and olive baboon.
It's the closest national park from Kampala City, and easily accessible in just one day or 2 days for those who have time in Uganda.
