After pickup at your Hanoi Old Quarter hotel or another central meeting point, travel to Halong Bay by climate-controlled bus, stopping at a humanity center for local handicrafts along the way.
At Halong Bay, board a traditional junk boat to cruise around the limestone islets before exploring Surprise (Sung Sot) Cave, one of the bay’s biggest. Then, paddle a kayak around a fishing village to glimpse local life.
Return to your junk boat for swimming or an optional Vietnamese cooking class. After dinner on deck, enjoy the optional provided activities, such as squid fishing, karaoke, and stargazing.
On the second day, take photos from deck or try some optional tai chi before enjoying breakfast and absorbing the beautiful scenery. Then, ride a tender to Ba Hang, a floating fishing village to learn about daily life. Finish your experience with lunch aboard your junk boat and a drop-off back in Hanoi.
