Summary

Begin your half-day Lava Caving and ATV Quad adventure from Reykajvik with pick-up from your centrally located hotel, then head to your base camp just 15 minutes outside of the city. After learning to drive your all-terrain vehicle, fasten your helmet and hop aboard for an exhilarating and fast-paced adventure. Follow your guide on a thrilling 1-hour circuit and get your adrenaline pumping as you tackle challenging terrain, zoom along dirt trails and splash across rocky river crossings. Climb to the summit of Hafrafell mountain and pause to take in spectacular views across the Reykjanes peninsula, Reykjavik and Hafravatn Lake. After a short stop for lunch (own expense) en-route, arrive at the Leiðarendi lava cave and get suited up for an unforgettable caving excursion. Equipped with a head-torch, follow your guide into the darkness and explore the 900m-long tunnel, carved into the earth by an ancient lava river. Scramble and crawl through the caves and be mesmerized by the dazzling colors and otherworldly rock formations that lie beneath the surface. Your tour ends with a return transfer to Reykjavik and drop-off at your hotel.

Experience these two adrenaline-filled activities in one day in only 8-hour total time from Reykjavik. We will begin the day with a pick up from our caving partners at 8:00 and they will take you our in the nature to explore Raufarhólshellir the Lava cave Raufarhólshellir is one of the longest and best-known lava tubes in Iceland. This is a great opportunity to see the path of an ancient volcanic eruption. The Leitahraun eruption carved out the landscape around 5200 years ago. – After the Caving adventure, our partners will take drop you off at a meeting point, where you get a little Lunch break. Then we Safari Quads will come and We will pick you up and drive you to our brand new headquarters with hot coffee available. Then off we are for a 1-hour ATV adventure through the Icelandic wilderness, experience an amazing view over Reykjavik. After you will be dropped off where you were picked up. Safari Quads is an ATV & Buggy tour operator located in Reykjavik, Iceland. Our company was established in 2003 making us the oldest ATV Quad tour company in Iceland! Our operation had quite a humble beginning; we set our first roots on a farm in the countryside of West Iceland. Our tours were rugged back then – we like to think of them as ‘vintage’, but this was the birthplace of our passion and that is one thing that has not changed. We aim to provide our guests with an authentic experience with intimate exposure to the fascinating spectacle that is Iceland´s natural landscape. We left the farmland behind in 2008 and returned to civilization in Reykjavik to set up our latest and greatest basecamp. We are now located under 15 minutes away from the heart of the city making our tours easily accessible to adventurous travellers. Reykjavik´s backyard has proven to be an alluring natural playground for our ATVs and buggies with pristine mountains and stunning lakes.
