Our Tour 1943 Operation Avalanche Salerno is an immersive itinerary in one of the most important pages in the history of Italy.
We will trace what history remembers as the largest military maneuver in the Mediterranean, second only to the Normandy landing in 1944.
Our guided tour starts at the Museum of Operation Avalanche in Eboli.
After visiting the museum, we pass to the Commonwealth War Cemetery in Salerno, where 1,847 British, American and Canadian soldiers are buried, as well as from South Africa, India, New Zealand and Africa.
We then head towards the Amalfi Coast and reach the city of Maiori.
Here we stop on the beach where the allied forces land and then we drive to the Chiunzi Pass, where we begin our trek towards Monte Sant'Angelo and Monte Finestra, retracing the footsteps of the soldiers.
The trekking tour will end in Cava de’ Tirreni.
A tour not to be missed in a jump into the past of the history of Italy.
