Pick you up from your hotel at 7:00 am in the morning, then drive to Gubei Water Town and Simatai Great Wall, which takes about 3 hours. Gubei Water Town and Simatai Great Wall are located close to each other. Regarded as 'Wuzhen in Beijing', Gubei Water Town boasts a combination of mountains, water and ancient villages. Simatai Great Wall is one of the most primitive sections of the Great Wall. Unlike Badaling and Mutianyu Great Wall which has undergone extensive restoration, the wall at Simatai still kept its original appearance. It is often described with the following five words: perilous, dense, diverse, artful, and peculiar.
When arrive at the Tourist Center, you will take a shuttle bus to the ticket office, where the tour guide will get you the entrance ticket. Cable car (optional with extra charge) is available to go up and down from the Great Wall. You can go hiking on the Great Wall and walk around in the water town.
