Why take this tour?
From Gaudí to bullfighting arenas, this tour paints an exquisite picture of everything one associates with a vacation in Spain. On your tour, you will:
* Explore the **Casa Amatller**, a stunning example of modernist building design.
* Admire one of Gaudí’s best creations, the **Casa Batlló**.
* Experience the serenity of the **cloisters**.
* Visit **La Monumental from the outside**, the last bullfighting arena in commercial operation in Catalonia.
The **Dreta de L'Eixample** neighbourhood was built in the 1800’s as the city began to outgrow its medieval centre. A distinguished Catalan engineer designed the neighbourhood and it has become a very popular residence for the wealthiest citizens in the city.
Your tour will begin in the so-called **Illa de la Discòrdia** or “block of discord” in English – in which you will see some of the finest examples of modernist architecture, including The **Casa Amatller** and the **Casa Batlló**, known locally as the “house of bones." You will then visit Barcelona's newest Basilica, **Conception Church,** with your guide, and explore the summery cloisters at your own pace. Finally, after a stroll through the neighbourhood, you will see the **Monumental**, the arena which hosted the last bullfight in Catalonia.
