Why take this tour?

On this small group, exclusive experience join your local New York City guide in the morning to catch one of the easiest ferries to Liberty Island. Departing early ensures you beat the crowds that descend upon the island by midday.  As you make your way, enjoy a well-known, classic sight - the view of New York City's famed skyline from the water.

Once you reach Liberty Island, this is where your guided tour of Lady Liberty starts to pick up the pace. Prepare yourself - you are about to discover fascinating facts about the building of Lady Liberty, including how the project narrowly missed absolute ruin numerous times! While your guide is an incredible storyteller, they will sort the fact from fiction and you'll be impressed with how incredible the story of the Statue of Liberty truly is.

From around the island, you'll take in vantage points - notable views of New York Harbor and the sights she keeps her graceful gaze upon each day including the Brooklyn Bridge, Lower Manhattan, and the Hudson River.

It is at this point your VIP ticket becomes a thing of incredible value (as if the brilliance of your guide wasn't enough!) - you'll enter the interior of the Statue of Liberty and begin to climb the (fairly easy) 215 steps to the top of her pedestal. As you make your way further, you will view the intricate metalwork of her frame. At the top of the pedestal, enjoy arguably one of the best views over New York City and its environs. Here you will have time to snap photos, take in the fresh air, and truly appreciate your time in the Big Apple.

After hitting up the new Statue of Liberty Museum, with its bevy of incredulous artifacts (including the Statue's original torch), you will catch the short ferry ride to Ellis Island. As the port of entry for some 12 million individuals arriving into America, Ellis Island is a poignant reminder of every American's roots, and the sacrifices made on our behalf.

While your guide will share with you their intricate knowledge of immigration during its open years, you will have the option at the end of the tour to stay at Ellis Island to enjoy at your leisure. Your guide is at hand to set you up for whatever you choose - journey back on the ferry to Battery Park with them, or continue to explore the island's many wonderful reminders of how the great country of the United States welcomed those from across the globe.
