Why take this tour?

You may be familiar to the most famous sights of London, but are you familiar with the history, stories and characters behind them? This tour takes in a range of central London's most iconic spots, ideal for plenty of photo ops whilst allowing you to learn the hidden histories behind famous buildings.

Throughout, you'll be rewarded with plenty of facts and trivia that are guaranteed to shed new light on parts of London you thought you knew.  This is a stair-free route through the streets of London suitable for wheelchair users.

The tour is ready whenever you are and the audio plays automatically at exactly the right time and place using your smartphone's GPS and the VoiceMap mobile app, which also works offline.

From the bustling heart of present-day Central London, you’ll travel back over 500 years of history to learn about the famous people, places and events in one of the oldest cities in the world.  A short walk through Green Park will introduce you to a range of royals including Queen Victoria, King James I and King Henry VIII plus all of his seven wives!  From there we walk towards Parliament, covering the history of Government and war through the eyes of Winston Churchill and Admiral Horatio Nelson, taking in Horseguards, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey.  As well as these iconic British heroes and buildings, we’ll learn about the real story of the villainous man who almost destroyed Parliament, the infamous Guy Fawkes.  The tour ends at Trafalgar Square but not before taking in views of one of London’s oldest churches, St Paul’s Cathedral, and one of its newest landmarks, the London Eye.

Key landmarks include Buckingham Palace, St James's Palace, Horseguards, Admiralty Citadel, Cabinet War Rooms, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, The Houses of Parliament, The London Eye, St Paul's Cathedral, Nelson's Column and Trafalgar Square.

This two hour tour has cafes and restaurants at the start and end for food, coffee or a bathroom break, but the main section of the tour passes through a less well serviced part of Central London.
