The concept is simple: Rise early and enjoy an authentic Gourmet Creole Made-to-Order Breakfast, followed by our award-winning guided, Edgar Degas House Creole Impressionist Tour (Great-Grand Niece or Docent) and finishing with a Painting class hosted by the Great-Grand Niece of Degas.

Why take this tour?

This tour runs only on Tuesday or Thursday; OR when Great-Grand Niece of Edgar Degas, Micey Moyer is available for painting class. Must have at least 3 guests to book before the tour can run. Please feel free to call directly to (504)821-5009 for availability, if unsure.

Upon arrival, guests get treated to a Creole cooked-to-order, homemade breakfast, with offerings such as French Waffles with fresh fruit, over-sized Creole Omelets with choice of fillings (Vegetables, Turkey or Ham), Bananas Foster Pain Perdu (French toast topped with caramelized bananas), Cheese Grits, and more. In addition, a complimentary Bloody Mary or Mimosa accompanies each meal, provided by the Edgar Degas Foundation.

Following the meal, visitors take part in our world-renowned guided tour experience, the "Edgar Degas House Creole Impressionist Tour", featuring one of the great-grandnieces of Degas or docent as the lead tour guide. The tour includes exploring the historic home, museum, courtyard, and Degas’ studio, and viewing the award-winning documentary, "Degas in New Orleans, a Creole Sojourn". Also included is the Creole Neighborhood of Edgar Degas Walking Tour, which explores references to the neighborhood included in Degas' New Orleans letters. Followed at Noon by your painting class and be sure to ask the Great-Grand Niece Micey Moyer to Sign the Back of your painting, as she hand draws the Ballerinas.
