Why take this tour?

This 3-hour Osaka Night Food Tour will take you on an unforgettable eating excursion through the busy streets and the hidden, less frequented parts of Minami (South) Osaka.

Starting on the the bright and busy Dotonburi area, we will learn about Glico man, a Filipino sprinter named Fortunato Catalon, who inspired a nation and a company! We will take secret alleys not long after we begin the tour toward the shrine wedged out of sight from the average passerby.

We will sample, Kushikatsu, (deep fried meat and veggie skewers) a local take on Yakitori and we will surprise you with a Michelin rated street food stop for Osaka’s favorite snack– Takoyaki! (a kind of grilled octopus fritter). Try a draft beer or Nihonshu (rice wine) with your tasty meal.

From there, we will show you a famous building full of hidden unorthodox bars, one after another. Finally finish off with a tasty local street food dessert!

This 3-hour Osaka Night Food Tour will take you on an unforgettable eating adventure through the less frequented parts of Minami (South) Osaka.

Starting at the heavily-populated Dotonbori area on a bridge overlooking the inner canal, you will quickly see the Glico man. Similar to Shibuya, the lights and sounds of Dotonbori often lead you astray to commercialized restaurants with queues of tourists outside. Quickly darting from the crowd, you will take a secret alley with your guide.

After making it through the hidden alley ways, you will make your first stop at a traditionally un-traditional Japanese spot, known for its impressive selection of fresh food. Next, you will be taken down a narrow alley to see some of the more unconventional restaurants and pubs.

Your guide will then lead you to Kaminari Sushi, arguably the best sushi restaurant in all of Osaka.  Standing the test of time for nearly 100 years, this local shop fits just enough seats for you. There, you will taste some of the most succulent sushi you will ever eat. You will enjoy 7 kinds of sushi and a drink. The sushi master will be available for conversation and to answer any questions you may have about his craft.

From there, you will walk past the owl cafe to the second floor where you will be overwhelmed at the number of unorthodox bars, one after another.

Your final stop will take you into the depths of a corner shop, with nothing really that eye-popping outside to let customers know what is actually down there...like a speakeasy. In the basement of the corner building, you will find the most amazing combination of activities. You will also be taught how to cook your own takoyaki with the support of the staff.
