Why take this tour?

Khatyn is the memorial complex dedicated to the village that was burnt together with people during WWII. The first part of the complex represents the village itself. We will see symbolic houses, the monument called Unvanquished Man to the only adult who survived in the massacre and the mass grave of 149 villagers. The second part is dedicated to other villagers, town and cities that suffered during WWII. We will visit the cemetery of villages (the only one in the world) with 185 graves representing villages that shared Khatyn fate and disappeared from the map of Belarus. Next, we will see the Wall of Memory with the memorial plaques to the towns with concentration camps. Finally, we will come to the Eternal flame which was lit up in the honour of all Belarusians who died in the war. During the tour I will share with you the story of my great-grandparents who participated in WWII and left their diaries about these tragic times.
