Pack Paris’s main attractions into a single, unforgettable day on our complete Paris in a day trip! In the company of an expert guide and a small group of 20 people or fewer, you’ll see the city’s main monuments and learn its hidden secrets while traveling by foot and metro. From the windmills of Montmartre, to Notre Dame Cathedral, and the second floor of the Eiffel tower; you will see more postcard worthy attractions in one day than you would in a week of normal sightseeing. There is simply no better way to experience the culture, history, and beauty of the City of Lights in a short period of time.
Paris is a city teaming with history and attractions so if you want to see the best of it in a day, it helps to go with an expert guide who will take care of logistics and tell you the story of the city as you go, including the characters, facts, myths and lore.

Your day starts at the base of Montmartre hill where you’ll meet your guide and your small group of no more than 20 people, then take the funicular to Sacré-Cœur Basilica. After taking in stunning views of the city, your guide will lead you through the winding streets of Montmartre, stopping off at the neighborhood vineyard, artist hangout Place du Tertre, and a reconstructed windmill, much like those made famous by the cabaret club (and movie) Moulin Rouge.

Next you’ll catch the metro - Paris’ most used mode of transport - for a short trip to the Île de la Cité, Paris’s oldest district. The City of Light started on this very island, growing from a Roman outpost into the most populous and prosperous city in Europe. Above it rises Notre Dame. Severely damaged by a recent fire, she still stands proudly in the heart of the city; testament to the genius of its design and the endurance of France. Your guide will bring you as close as the ongoing restoration will permit to give you the best views possible. You’ll cross the river into the historic Latin Quarter with its gothic churches and winding, cobbled, streets ending at Place Saint-Michel - a gathering place for locals and visitors alike. You'll see La Conciergerie, the prison where Marie Antoinette was kept before she was beheaded; Place Dauphine, possibly the prettiest square in Paris; and the gorgeous Pont Neuf bridge. Then be swept away at the charming Île Saint-Louis - the second of Paris’ natural islands for a tour of this 17th century neighbourhood. After you’ve explored these quaint streets and taken in the island’s history, you’ll enjoy a 1-hour break for lunch furnished with plenty of recommendations from your guide on the best spots to grab a bite to eat around the island.

Meet back after lunch and get ready for the next part of your Parisien adventure. Taking a cruise down the river Seine (audio included if you wish), you’ll pass monuments including the Musée d'Orsay, the Louvre, and Notre Dame, allowing you to get a new vantage point on the iconic sights you saw earlier. Soak up the best of Paris before you cruise drops you off at one of the most recognizable landmarks in the city: the Eiffel Tower. You’ll hear the incredible story of how this structure - which totals 1,063 ft - was built from your guide before they leave you with skip-the-line tickets to access the second floor where you’ll get unparalleled views of the city, and an unforgettable experience.

And that’s it; in just one day you’ll experience Paris by foot and water, skipping its longest lines to see its most popular attractions, plus a few local favorites along the way.

Know before you book Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate guests with mobility impairments, wheelchairs or strollers on this tour.
The Eiffel Tower is subject to unexpected closure due to strikes or unforeseen circumstances. In that case, your guide will modify the tour itinerary and lead you to Montparnasse Tower. From the roof of this central skyscraper, you will enjoy a panoramic view of Paris and the Eiffel Tower. The tour will end here. From there, your guide will provide you with a subway ticket to the Eiffel Tower should you wish to admire it from the ground and/or reach the cruise departure point.
Walks provides tickets with skip the line access. However, the Eiffel Tower enforces a maximum capacity limit. On rare occasions, we will ask your patience as the crowd dissipates so that the group may enter safely.
Your skip-the-line Eiffel Tower tickets allow access to the second floor only. If you desire to ascend to the third floor, it’s possible to buy a third floor ticket at the main ticket desk on the ground floor and wait in line again.

FAQ I’m concerned it might be too difficult for members of my group.

Seeing all of Paris in a single day is pretty tiring. We do leave time for a lunch break during which you can rest and our guides are always very conscious to pace our tours to suit your group. For guests with a normal fitness level and good health, it won’t be too much but if someone in your party has issues with mobility or fitness, we would recommend that you take our Louvre tour and our Île de la Cité tour on different days. This will not cover all of the sites from our Paris In A Day tour but will include the most important highlights

Does the ticket include the 3rd Floor of the Eiffel tower?

The tour does not include the last floor of the tower, however, you can absolutely buy a ticket on your own. To do so, you will have to go down the tower after the tour, wait in line, and buy a third floor ticket (25€/person). You will then be able to take the elevator to the second floor, and then a second elevator to reach the last floor.

Can I bring my bag on my tour in Paris?

To ensure the safety of visitors, French authorities are enforcing security measures upon entry to the Eiffel Tower. Suitcases, luggage, and larger bags are not allowed inside. Only bags smaller than 55cm x 35cm x 20cm are permitted. Please accept our apologies for any delay or inconvenience caused by extra security checks.

Is photography allowed in sites in Paris?

Photography is allowed; however, selfie sticks nor professional photography equipment, such as tripods, are allowed.

Is food & drink allowed in any of the sites visited during the tour?

Closed bottled water is allowed, food is forbidden inside the visited sites.

My tour includes a visit to a holy site, what should I wear?

Dress code at Catholic churches and religious sites (such as the catacombs) requires that both women and men cover their shoulders and knees. In summer we recommend that men wear t-shirts and long shorts that cover their knees. For women, if you are wearing a strapless top or dress, bring a cardigan. If you are wearing shorts, we recommend bringing a sarong to wrap around you inside.
