Learn to Cook Seasonal North Indian Vegetarian Food in a Local Home

Summary

This is a unique opportunity to visit the home of a local and explore traditional culture and cuisine. Join Payal in her cooking studio for your cooking experience. Her kitchen is a spacious, professional space, where you will have plenty of room for a hands-on cooking lesson. Payal will teach you to prepare 4 typical North Indian or Rajasthani dishes such as a rice dish, handmade bread, seasonal vegetable and lentil dish. You can expect the cooking lesson to last about 2 hours. After your cooking class, sit down at the dining table to share the fruits of your labor. Your menu might include dishes such as rice (mix vegetable pulav or peas pulav or masala rice), seasonal vegetable (aloo gobhi or bhindi bharwa or methi aloo), bread (chapati or missi roti or parantha) and lentils (dal tadka or dal makhni or channa masala).

Why take this tour?

In this private culinary experience you will spend the day with Payal, a local homecook who was first inspired in the kitchen by her grandmother. Payal loves looking for lost recipes and learning dishes that people have stopped eating. She believes that daily food should be regional and seasonal, to ensure that the flavors are the freshest and ingredients are nutritious. Payal will take you to the local market and show you how she likes to shop for seasonal produce and the freshest spices. Then you will return home for a hands-on cooking lesson of some of her Rajathani specialties. When the meal is complete, join Payal and her family at their welcoming dining table and get to know this special regional cuisine.
