Summary

Your tour begins when you step off the cruise ship and meet your guide. First, head to the city for a short tour of Puerto Limon, whose recorded history dates back to the 1500s. Then, drive for roughly one hour to reach Cahuita National Park, home to Costa Rica’s largest coral reef. Take an easy 0.6 mile (1 km) nature walk down the shoreline with opportunities to spot wildlife like monkeys, iguanas, and toucans. Next, visit a banana plantation to learn about one of Costa Rica’s most important exports. Learn how bananas are grown, processed, packed, and exported. A scenic coastal drive then brings you to the Tortuguero Canals for a boat ride through the canals, well-known for their abundance of wildlife like sloths, crocodiles, and aquatic birds. Tour concludes with port drop-off.
