Traditional Georgian Cooking Class with a Mother-Son Duo in Freedom Square

Summary

This is a unique opportunity to visit the home of a local and explore traditional culture and cuisine. Your experience begins by meeting your hosts Zviadi and Lali at their home. You will then join Lali and Zviadi in their kitchen for a 1-2-hour hands-on cooking class and learn to make 2-3 dishes from scratch. While you help prepare the dishes that you will later eat, Zviadi will explain in detail the history of the food, where it came from, and the right methods to prepare it. The dishes you will learn to make depends on the menu that you choose. A few examples of what you might cook together are badrijani (fried eggplant with walnuts), khachapuri (cheese-filled bread) and spinach pkhali (spinach salad with walnut) or khinkali (a Georgian dumpling) and beetroot salad.
