Whale Watching Small-Group Tour from Akureyri

Summary

Make your own way to the pier in central Akureyri to meet your captain in time for a 10am, 12pm, 2pm, or 4pm departure (depending on tour option selected). Don a life jacket and hop aboard a small RIB (rigid-inflatable boat) with space for just 12 people, then set sail along the Eyjafjörður fjord. As you zip along Iceland’s north coast, listen as your guide points out natural wonders and local wildlife including sea birds. Make several stops along the way and if you’re lucky, get the chance to spot majestic humpback whales, as well as white-beaked dolphins, mink whales, and many other varieties of whale. After around 2 hours at sea, return to Akureyri, where your tour ends back at the pier.
