Summary
Pack all of Paris’s main attractions into a single, unforgettable day on our complete Paris in a day trip. In the company of a local expert guide and a small group of 15 people or fewer, you’ll see the city’s main monuments and learn a lot of its hidden secrets while traveling by foot and metro. From the windmills of Montmartre, to Notre Dame Cathedral, the halls of the Louvre, and the second floor of the Eiffel tower; you will fit more postcard worthy attractions into one day than you would in a week of normal sightseeing. There is simply no better way to experience the culture, history, and beauty of the City of Lights in a short period of time.
Description
Paris is a city with a lot of history and even more attractions so if you want to see the best of it in a day, it helps to go with an expert guide who will take care of logistics and tell you the story of the city as you go, including the characters, facts, myths and lore and will make the experience unforgettable.

Your day starts at the base of Montmartre hill from where you’ll meet your guide and your small group of no more than 15 people, then take the funicular to Sacré-Cœur Basilica. After taking in stunning views of the city, your guide will lead you through the winding streets of Montmartre, stopping off at the neighborhood vineyard, artist hangout Place du Tertre, and a reconstructed windmill, much like those made famous by the cabaret club (and movie) Moulin Rouge.

Next you’ll catch the subway - Paris’ best mode of transport - for a short trip to the Île de la Cité, Paris’s oldest district. The City of Light started on this very island, growing from a Roman outpost into the most populous and prosperous city in Europe. Above it rises Notre Dame. Severely damaged by a recent fire, she still stands proudly in the heart of the city; testament to the genius of its design and the endurance of France. Your guide will bring you as close as the ongoing restoration will permit to give you the best views possible.  You’ll cross the river into the historic Latin Quarter with its gothic churches and winding, cobbled, streets ending at Place Saint-Michel, gathering place for locals and visitors alike. You'll also see La Conciergerie, the prison where Marie Antoinette was kept before she was beheaded; Place Dauphine, possibly the prettiest square in Paris; and gorgeous Pont Neuf bridge.

A short walk down the Seine brings you to the Louvre, where you’ll enjoy a 1-hour lunch break (with recommendations from your guide) before diving into the largest art museum in the world, to see some of its most spellbinding works of art. The highlight is, of course, da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. Your guide will help you understand why the painting is so significant and how, after all these years, it has managed to maintain its reputation as one of the world’s greatest works of art.

After another short subway ride you’ll find yourself staring up at the Eiffel Tower from the best vantage point at Trocadéro Plaza, learning the incredible story of how it was built.
At the Tower your guide will depart but as a parting a gift they’ll leave you with a skip-the-line ticket for the second floor and a ticket for a one-hour Seine river cruise that you can use immediately (we’d recommend it since it’s almost sunset) or save for the next day. Cruising from west to east and back again, this boat tour (audio included if you wish), passes such monuments as the Musée d'Orsay, the Louvre, and Notre Dame, allowing you to get a new vantage point on sites you saw earlier plus many beautiful bridges including the Pont Neuf.

And that’s it; in just one day you’ll have seen Paris by foot and water, skipping its longest lines to see its most popular attractions, plus a few local favorites along the way.

FAQ Do I have to use my Seine cruise tickets on the day of Paris In A Day tour?

No. Your tickets for the Seine Cruise are flexible and can be used for any boat departing from the Eiffel Tower at any time during your vacation

I’m concerned it might be too difficult for members of my group.

Seeing all of Paris in a single day is pretty tiring. We do leave time for a lunch break during which you can rest and our guides are always very conscious to pace our tours to suit your group. For guests with a normal fitness level and good health, it won’t be too much but if someone in your party has issues with mobility or fitness, we would recommend that you take our Louvre tour and our Île de la Cité tour on different days. This will not cover all of the sites from our Paris In A Day tour but will include the most important highlights

Does the ticket include the 3rd Floor of the Eiffel tower?

The tour does not include the last floor of the tower, however, you can absolutely buy a ticket on your own. To do so, you will have to go down the tower after the tour, wait in line, and buy a third floor ticket (25€/person). You will then be able to take the elevator to the second floor, and then a second elevator to reach the last floor.

Can I bring my bag on my tour in Paris?

To ensure the safety of visitors, French authorities are enforcing security measures upon entry to the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower and the Pompidou Center. Suitcases, luggage, and larger bags are not allowed inside. Only bags smaller than 55cm x 35cm x 20cm are permitted. Please accept our apologies for any delay or inconvenience caused by extra security checks.

Is photography allowed in sites in Paris?

Photography is allowed; however, selfie sticks nor professional photography equipment, such as tripods, are allowed.

Is food & drink allowed in any of the sites visited during the tour?

Closed bottled water is allowed, food is forbidden inside the visited sites.

My tour includes a visit to a holy site, what should I wear?

Dress code at Catholic churches and religious sites (such as the catacombs) requires that both women and men cover their shoulders and knees. In summer we recommend that men wear t-shirts and long shorts that cover their knees. For women, if you are wearing a strapless top or dress, bring a cardigan. If you are wearing shorts, we recommend bringing a sarong to wrap around you inside.

I am in a wheelchair, can I take your?

Unfortunately, the route we use on our Louvre Tour is not fully wheelchair accessible.
